Watchung Hills
High school is a name used in some parts of the world and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11 and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Watchung Hills is a top high school situated in the United States. Watchung Hills Regional High School is a regional public high school and regional school district serving students in portions of Somerset and Morris Counties in New Jersey, United States. The high school is located next to Woodland School in Warren Township. The High School serves students in grades nine through twelve and as of the 2005 to 2006 school years, there were over 1,900 students attending. Its mascot is the warrior and its school colors are brown and gold. Dr. Thomas DiGanci is the principal of the school.
Watchung Hills Regional High School received the Blue Ribbon Award from the United States department of education in 1994 to1995, the highest honor that an American school can achieve. In their 2004 survey, Newsweek ranked the school as the 583rd best high school in the nation. The school had eight dedicated Citrix MetaFrame presentation servers and one NFuse server. The system allows students who don't have programs such as Microsoft Office to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and other applications.
The school has the most successful sports teams. The school teams have excelled in sports like soccer, tennis, ice hockey, basketball and many more events. The school is currently under construction and almost complete. An extensive addition has been constructed and all classrooms have been renovated. The addition included many new classrooms including a four tier band room. The addition also included a brand new auditorium with rising orchestra pit and catwalk.
The students and faculty blend rigorous academic studies and exchanges into lives lived fully and committed to making a difference. In this regard, knowledge, honor, courage, and service stand out as elements of character important in their daily lives and to the future of each student. The school preserves its historical vision, gives that vision vitality in changing times and embeds its ideals in every succeeding generation.
