Hilton Central
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Hilton High School is part of the 4,450 student Hilton Central School District, a public school system based in Hilton, a suburb of Rochester, New York. Hilton High School offers an IB, International Baccalaureate Diploma and the school also made Newsweek's top 1,200 schools in the United States, ranking at number 989 in 2005. It has made the list the last two years. Hilton's Quest Elementary School, 400 pupils, is an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program. Hilton School District is headed by Superintendent of Schools David Dimbleby who was formerly principal of Hilton High School.
The athletics programs include baseball, basketball, men's, basketball, women's, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, men's and women's, tennis, men's and women's, track, volleyball, wrestling. Hilton High School is a dynamic school that promotes academic achievement, high expectations, respect, unity, and safety. Hilton High school strives to develop specific goals and high academic standards, using communication and commitment within a shared learning environment.
The Hilton School District is committed to each student's success academically, physically, emotionally, and socially so that they become self-directed, life-long learners who think critically and creatively and function as caring, responsible, productive citizens. The mission of Hilton High School is to provide an environment in which all students will acquire the necessary skills to become responsible thinkers who appreciate diversity and are productive citizens in their community.
