Handley
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district. John Handley High School is a public high school located in the city of Winchester, Virginia. It is on the register of historic places, as it was founded by a grant from Judge John Handley, hence the school mascot, the Judges. Construction on Handley High School started in 1922. V. Douglas Joyner is the Principal of the School. The dress colors are Maroon, Black, and White. They focus on training students for particular careers and then placing them in successful careers after graduation. They have a devoted team of staff and instructors ready and willing to help you from enrollment to 10 to 12 grades. In sports it includes Baseball, Boy's Basketball 2006-2007, Girl's Basketball, Cheerleading, Football, Softball, Track, and Volleyball. It is the mission of Handley High School to facilitate optimal learning for all of their students and to enable them to lead full and productive lives in an increasingly complex society where educational and technological demands are rapidly changing.
