El Paso
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
El Paso High School is the oldest operating high school in El Paso, Texas. It sits on a mountainside at the foot of the Franklin Mountains overlooking the central portion of the city and its boundary with Mexico. The school stands out significantly on the horizon commanding a view of the city. The school has graduated many prominent citizens of the community, and has captured hundreds of trophies, plaques, and championships in all fields. Mr. John T. Roskosky is the Principal of the school. Their goal is to offer a wide range of athletic programs that will allow students the opportunity to participate in the sport of their choice.
The El Paso Independent School District strongly believes in the education of the whole child. It is through this belief that athletics plays a major role in the EPISD education process. Athletic programs are an extension of the classroom, where our youth learn teamwork, sportsmanship, winning, losing and work ethics. These characteristics are the foundation for which students can build upon for future success. The school has various clubs are Key Club, State-recognized marching band, City-recognized jazz bands, Tech Club.
El Paso High School is committed to provide a learning environment where students are challenged to reach their individual potential in the acquisition of knowledge and the development of personal, cultural and democratic values essential for future success.
