Corbett
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
The Corbett School District serves approximately 600 students grade K-12. It is located near the mouth of the Historic Columbia River Gorge, Corbett is just minutes away from Mount Hood and the Portland Metropolitan area. Corbett students attend three exceptional schools located on a single campus with access to public and private alternative programs throughout the metro area. Corbett School District is a founding partner in the center for advanced learning. Randy Trani is the Principal of the school.
Corbett High School was one of nine high schools in the state to receive an exceptional rating on the State of Oregon School Report Card. More impressive is that over 50 percent of Corbett High School juniors and seniors participate in Advanced Placement classes. The Corbett High School Band, the economics challenge team and extra-curricular programs that include all major sports have received statewide recognition. Club activities that include Young Shakespeare Players and the Corbett Equestrian Team offer students a wide variety of quality experiences outside the classroom.
Corbett High School is proud of its extracurricular options, which includes all major sports football, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, basketball, softball, track, baseball and golf, an award-winning music program band and choir, which are also offered as courses, key club, national honor society, the young Shakespeare players, the Corbett Equestrian Team, the twice-state-champion economics challenge team, and other activities driven by student interest. Corbett residents take great pride in the achievements of their students.
They focus on training students for particular careers and then placing them in successful careers after graduation. They have a devoted team of staff and instructors ready and willing to help you from enrollment to 10 to 12 grades.
Their goal is to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills without losing sight of the special needs of the middle school child.
