Wade Hampton
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Wade Hampton was founded in the year 1900. The association is composed of more than 5,000 schools colleges, universities and other educational organizations. Each year, the college board serves seven million students and their parents, 23,000 high schools and 3500 colleges through major programs and services in college admissions, guidance, assessment, financial aid, enrollment and teaching and learning. Mr. Lance Radford is the principal of the school.
The college board’s advanced placement program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college level courses while still in high school and to receive college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP exams. About 18 percent of the more than 1.3 million high school students in 16,000 secondary schools worldwide who took AP exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP scholar.
There are various departments such as administration, english, foreign language, mathematics, science, special education and foreign language. Their athletics department includes various sporting events in varsity football, swimming, tennis, golf, cheer volleyball. The winter sports are basketball and Wrestling while the spring sports are baseball, softball, soccer and Golf.
Their mission is to bring into closer relation the home and the school that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth. To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts which will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
