Stephen F. Austin High School is a secondary school located in Sugar Land, Texas, founded in 1995. Austin, as it is commonly called, serves grades 9 through 12 and is a part of the Fort Bend Independent School District. The principal is Mike Leach and school type is Public. The mascot is Bulldogs and school colors are black and red. The school is named after Stephen F. Austin. The school happens to be only miles from Austin's original colony in present day Fort Bend County.
At Austin, they are exceptionally proud of their technology. Every teacher has one or more computers in the classroom, and they have labs available for teachers to bring their classes during the school year plus a student lab in the library. They also have a variety of technology-based electives. The school offers many outstanding electives to students. They offer fine arts including band, orchestra, dance, art, theater, and speech and drama. In addition, students may choose from electives such as broadcast journalism, newspaper, photojournalism, accounting, business law, international marketing, health sciences, agricultural education, interior design, environmental sciences, and aquatic science.
Austin High School offers a selection of sports for students including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, dance, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, and volleyball. Austin High School takes great pride as goals have taken root and are becoming reality. The students and faculty work meticulously toward embracing growth and maximizing potential while maintaining individual and interpersonal relationships.
