Poquoson
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district. Poquoson is a top high school situated in the United States. Mr. Donald Bock is the principal of this school. The school follows a disciplined approach to education. One of the disciplinary actions is following a dress code. At any time during the school day, the purpose of the dress code is to present a positive image and provide an environment conducive to learning. There are 7 periods conducted in a day of which there are 2 lunch sessions. The school conducts various activities during the academic year such as academic challenge, band, chess club, chorus or audition groups, Christian athletes, debate, delta forensics, Interclub council, International club and many more. The following subjects are taught in Poquoson like business, cooperative education, fine arts, foreign languages, science, social studies, special services and technology education. The staff assumes the responsibility for making a positive effort to meet the intellectual, physical, emotional and ethical needs of all students.
The school curriculum, as well as curricular and extra curricular activities, includes experiences that enable students to realize personal and civic goals which allow them to mature and to be responsible members of our constantly changing society. The mission of Poquoson High School is to provide their students equal opportunities to grow along with all round development. It helps the students to understand their true potential and helps them to acquire knowledge in a unique way resulting in the development of values which are essential for future success.
