North Valleys
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
NVHS, North Valleys High School is a high school in north Reno, Nevada. It was built in 2001 and presently has a student body of roughly 2,250 students. Mrs. Gifford is the principal of North Valleys high school. The primary focus of the NVHS College and Career Center is to work closely with the counselors and faculty in providing a successful high school experience for students and to be a resource in planning and development for their students' futures.
The athletics programs include baseball, basketball, men's, basketball, women's, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, men's and women's, tennis, men's and women's, track, volleyball, wrestling. North Valleys High School is a dynamic school that promotes academic achievement, high expectations, respect, unity, and safety. North Valleys High School strives to develop specific goals and high academic standards, using communication and commitment within a shared learning environment.
At NVHS, their mission is to promote educational growth through a rigorous curriculum along with the acquisition of technical skills and knowledge that will provide a basis for lifelong learning and will create a bridge between education and career.
