Chattahoochee
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
CHS, Chattahoochee High School is a public secondary school within the Fulton County School System. Chattahoochee High School Principal is Tim C. Duncan. The high School is one of fourteen high schools in Fulton County, opened in the fall of 1991. A Georgia School of Excellence in 1997, named by US news and world report and Newsweek as an outstanding American high school in 2005 and named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2000, it is accredited by the Georgia Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. With 2000 students, Chattahoochee is a four-year academic high school that offers a broad program of courses and experiences that address the interpersonal, social, physical and academic needs of its students.
Chattahoochee High School has the latest educational technology with thirteen full-class computer labs, as well as computers in individual classrooms. The school has Art, Biology, Calculus, Computer Science, Chemistry, Economics, English, Environmental Science, European History, French, Government and Politics, Music Theory, Physics, Psychology, Spanish, Statistics, U.S. History and World History courses.
Athletics department includes baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, rowing, softball, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling sports. At CHS their mission is to challenge all students to reach their maximum potential by providing a diversified environment that stimulates intellectual, emotional, ethical, and physical growth thus preparing them to meet the complex demands of the future.
