Chamblee Charter
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Chamblee Charter High School was established in 1917 and is one of DeKalb County’s oldest schools. Their school was accredited in 1935 and became a Charter School in 2001. Their aim is to create an environment where all students strive to reach their highest potential. Chamblee Charter High School includes grades 9 - 12. Currently, they have approximately 1,400 students which include those students in their magnet program.
Principal Rochelle Lowery, and the talented faculty of Chamblee Charter High School work together to create an innovative learning environment. The parents, students and staff of Chamblee Charter High School seek to build a school that is nationally competitive in academics, the arts, athletics and service to the community. They believe that the road to excellence is through an environment in which all students strive to reach their highest potential.
CCHS, Chamblee Charter High School has a governance council made up of parents, teachers and administrators. The GC, Governance Council establishes school wide improvement priorities and monitors implementation of Charter Goals. School gives the full coaching basketball, football, swimming, diving, baseball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, soft ball, volleyball, track and field and wrestling for the boys and girl athletics. The mission of Chamblee Charter High School is to foster the physical health and intellectual, social, and moral growth of every student.
