Peninsula
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district. Peninsula High School is located in Gig Harbor, Washington. Peninsula High School's facility and fields are in constant use. Built on a hill overlooking Henderson Bay, Peninsula High School has been an award winning member of the Peninsula School District since 1947. Because they have a diversity of talents and dreams among their students, they provide a strong comprehensive curriculum that includes a variety of academic courses. The facility consists of 35 general classrooms, science labs, industrial arts, vocational education, art labs, music rooms, special education resource rooms, library-media center, computer lab, auditorium, pool, gym, locker rooms and other required mechanical operational areas. The outdoor facilities consist of football, soccer and baseball fields, track and tennis courts. At Peninsula High School, their mission is to provide a learning environment where students are challenged to reach their individual potential in the acquisition of knowledge and the development of personal, cultural and democratic values essential for future success.
