Lakeland High School is located in Shrub Oak, New York in United States. As of 2006, the principal is Mrs Cheryl Champ. Lakeland High School is part of the Lakeland Central School District. Accredited by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York, Lakeland High School boasts a rich variety of academic offerings, ranging from AP, Advancement Placement and Honors level coursework to programs for the disabled population. Students are encouraged, in conjunction with the combined efforts of parents, teachers and counselors, to pursue the most appropriately challenging academic level in route to becoming life-long learners. Students are similarly encouraged to become active members of the school community through participation in Lakeland High School’s extensive athletic and co-curricular offerings.
 
Lakeland High School has a professional staff that includes 87 full and part time teaching faculty. The student to teacher ratio is 14 to 1, and the average class size is approximately 18.5 students. Lakeland High School offers a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for students to participate in such as Student Gov't, American Red Cross, Amnesty International, Debate, FBLA, the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Film Club, French Club, Gay-Straight Alliance Guitar Club, Habitat for Humanity, Italian Club, Jazz Ensemble, Lakeland Dance Co., Lazos, Math Team, Mock Trial, Multi-Cultural Club, Refugee Awareness Club and Rocket Club.
 
The mission of Lakeland High School is to provide their students with opportunities to obtain the skills needed to become productive, responsible citizens, capable of making positive contributions to a changing society.
