Celebration High School
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
CHS , Celebration High School offers a wide variety of core and elective classes to their students. Ranging from ESOL, English for Speakers of Other Languages and shelter classes for students with Limited English Proficiency to Advanced Placement classes in most academic disciplines, CHS strives to recognize and encourage each student to rise to a performance level of their highest ability. Elective offerings include music, drama, dance, foreign language and their National Champion Speech and Debate program. Principal of the school is Dr. Dan White and Dr. Enid Rentas and Gary Weeden are assisting to him.
Sports offered by the school are football, volleyball, and cross country won 2004 conference champions, boys golf team won conference champions in 2005, and girls golf won conference and district champions in 2005, swimming, boys soccer, girls soccer, boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball and weightlifting. They have different clubs namely Asian cultures club, environmental, foreign language, German, international thespians, math club, science, student government and step team.
A school is defined by its mission and vision. At Celebration High School, that mission and vision is to provide a comprehensive educational learning community that is dedicated to preparing students to be life-long learners as well as contributing members of a rapidly changing world. They are accomplishing by adhering to the Florida Sunshine State Standards as well as by focusing on rigor, relevance and relationship in their school environment.
