Burlingame
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Burlingame High School is a public high school in Burlingame, California. It is part of the San Mateo Union High School District and was built in the early 1920s on a campus close to California Drive and Broadway, near the Caltrain rail system. The school mascot is the Panther and the school colors are red and white. From its completion until the completion of Capuchino High School in San Bruno, California in September 1950, all high school students from San Bruno to Burlingame attended Burlingame High School.
Their academic programs include English, fine and performing arts, health, mathematics, physical education, science, social science, and world language etc. Their core values are treating each other with fairness, compassion and respect, while valuing differences, holding each other to high standards and expectations, supporting everyone to achieve his or her personal best, fostering meaningful connections among students, staff, parents and community, respecting the learning process and honoring improvement, maintaining professionalism, a strong work ethic and integrity, encouraging the value of humor, play and laughter.
