Bonita
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Bonita High School is located in the small and peaceful city of La Verne nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Bonita was established in 1903 and after having been moved from its original site on Bonita Avenue in 1959, it has come to be located at 3102 D Street. Bonita, one of two comprehensive high schools in the Bonita Unified School District, was the original high school for the cities of La Verne and San Dimas. Bonita was recently recognized as a California Distinguished School for its excellence in Academics, Athletics, and the Arts. Mr. Robert Ketterling is the Principal of the school.
The mission of Bonita High School is to provide their students with opportunities to obtain the skills needed to become productive, responsible citizens, capable of making positive contributions to a changing society.
