Providence
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia. Providence is city of the U.S. state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The population within the city limits is 173,618 inhabitants and is the anchor of the 35th largest metropolitan population in the country, with a population of 1,622,520 inhabitants, exceeding that of Rhode Island by about 60 percent. This area was first settled in 1636 by Roger Williams, and was one of the original thirteen colonies. Williams secured a title from the Narragansett natives around this time and gave the city its present name. Williams cultivated Providence as a refuge for persecuted religious dissenters, as he himself had been exiled from Massachusetts. Providence is located at the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 53.2 square kilometers. The city of Providence is geographically very compact, characteristic of eastern seaboard cities which developed prior to use of the automobile. In the city the population was spread out with 26.1 percent under the age of 18, 18.9 percent from 18 to 24, 28.6 percent from 25 to 44, 15.9 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.5 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 91.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.5 males. Providence is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in United States worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of United States.
