Wichita Falls is a municipality in Wichita County, Texas, United States. In 2000, the population of the city was 104,197 and an area of 183.1 square kilometers. It is the principal city of the Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Archer and Wichita counties. The city is the county seat of Wichita County. Wichita Falls is sister city to Furstenfeldbruck in Bavaria, Germany.  
 
In the city the population was spread out with 24.7 percent under the age of 18, 15.2 percent from 18 to 24, 29.3 percent from 25 to 44, 18.6 percent from 45 to 64, and 12.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 106.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.7 males. Wichita Falls is home to Midwestern State University, an accredited 4-year college offering both bachelors and master's degrees.
