Paramount
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.
Paramount is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 55,266 inhabitants. Paramount is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.5 square kilometers. Paramount was created in 1948 from the merger of the cities of Hynes and Clearwater, and is said to be named after the Paramount Pictures movie studio. The population density was 4,511.3 per square kilometers.
In the city the population was spread out with 36.9 percent under the age of 18, 12.0 percent from 18 to 24, 31.9 percent from 25 to 44, 14.0 percent from 45 to 64, and 5.2 percent who were 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.3 males.
