The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia.

Harrisburg is the capital of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a state of the United States of America. In 2000, the population of the city was 48,950 and an area of 29.6 square kilometers, making it the fourth most crowded metropolitan area in Pennsylvania, after Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Allentown. Harrisburg is the county seat of Dauphin County and lies on the east bank of the Susquehanna River. Harrisburg enjoys a reputation as a source for many arts and cultural opportunities, largely due to its prominence as one of the oldest American state capital cities in the urbanized, Northeastern United States.

In the city the population was spread out with 28.2 percent under the age of 18, 9.2 percent from 18 to 24, 31.0 percent from 25 to 44, 20.8 percent from 45 to 64, and 10.9 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 88.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.8 males.

Harrisburg is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in United States worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of United States.
