Norton Shores
The United States of America is a country in North America that extends from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and shares land borders with Canada and Mexico. The United States is a federal constitutional republic, with its capital in Washington, D.C., District of Columbia. Norton Shores is a municipality in Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. In 2000, the population of the city was 22,527 and an area of 63.4 square kilometers. Norton Shores is located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Muskegon County. Norton Shores might best be described as a suburban environment with a balance of industrial and commercial development. Norton Township was originally organized in 1845 by settlers of the village of Mill Point. In the city the population was spread out with 24.8 percent under the age of 18, 6.6 percent from 18 to 24, 25.8 percent from 25 to 44, 25.5 percent from 45 to 64, and 17.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 94.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males. Norton Shores is the kind of town you daydream about.
