Framingham is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA and the only such named town in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the population was 66,910, making it the most populous town in New England. The 2004 population estimate is 65,598. A charter change to make Framingham a city has been proposed more than once, but was defeated at referendum each time. Garden in the Woods, the largest landscaped collection of wildflowers in New England, is located within the town limits.
 
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 68.5 square kilometers. In the town the population was spread out with 21.4 percent under the age of 18, 9.0 percent from 18 to 24, 34.5 percent from 25 to 44, 22.1 percent from 45 to 64, and 13.0 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 91.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.6 males.

It can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
