Cordele

Cordele, also known as The Watermelon Capital of the World, is a city in Crisp County, Georgia, United States. In 2000, the population of the city was 11,608 and an area of 24.8 square kilometers. The city is the county seat of Crisp County. Cordele is located along 140 miles south of Atlanta and 100 miles north of the Florida state line.
In the city the population was spread out with 31.6 percent under the age of 18, 10.2 percent from 18 to 24, 25.6 percent from 25 to 44, 18.1 percent from 45 to 64, and 14.5 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 81.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 74.9 males.
A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Cordele is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
