According to the United States Census Bureau, Bennettsville has a total area of 16.1 square kilometers. In the city the population was spread out with 23.1 percent under the age of 18, 10.5 percent from 18 to 24, 31.2 percent from 25 to 44, 20.8 percent from 45 to 64, and 14.5 percent who were 65 years of age or older.
