Woodmont
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Woodmont High School is located on West Georgia Road in Piedmont. The building contains 250,000 square feet on a 69 acres campus. The school has large expanses of brick and abundant natural light used in combination with precast concrete creates a warm, welcoming appearance. Athletic facilities are positioned behind the school to maximize green space and minimize intrusion locker rooms are located beneath the gymnasium, on the same level as playing and practice fields. Interim Principal is Leroy Hamilton.
Woodmont High School colors and emblems are incorporated throughout the interior to reinforce a sense of involvement and enthusiasm. Upon its completion, Woodmont High School will be a study in building community. The athletics programs include baseball, basketball, men's, basketball, women's, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, men's and women's, tennis, men's and women's, track, volleyball, wrestling.
Woodmont High School is a dynamic school that promotes academic achievement, high expectations, respect, unity, and safety. Woodmont High Schoolstrives to develop specific goals and high academic standards, using communication and commitment within a shared learning environment. Woodmont High is committed to providing educational experiences that prepare its students to be productive citizens of the 21st Century. The mission of Woodmont High School is to empower students to become lifelong learners and productive citizens.
