High school is a name used in some parts of the world and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11 and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.

Williamsville North High School is a public high school  located in Williamsville, New York in United States. The  enrollment is of approximately 1,570 students in grades 9 through 12. The current principal as of 2006 is Mr. Robert B. Tubbs. The school colors are green and gold while the mascot is Spartans.  It was established in the year 1969. The school offers a comprehensive program with multi-level instruction in all academic areas.

The average class size was 21 students. 70 percent of students graduating in the 2003 to 2004 school year went on to a 4 year college, 21 percent  went on to a 2 year college, 1 percent  went to an other post secondary school and 5 percent  went on to employment. Williamsville North High School was built in 1969, becoming the Williamsville Central School District's second high school. Williamsville South High School was the first high school in the district.

The school also encourages the students to do well in extra curricular activities. In 2006, the boy’s varsity hockey team set a state record when they went to the finals for the fourth year in a row. They won the New York State championship three times in six years  and their head coach Robert Rosen won New York State Coach of the Year honors. In 2006, the boys cross country team won their first Section VI Championship under the guidance of coach Greg Stang.

The mission of Williamsville North High School is to prepare students to become confident, competent, ethical individuals and responsible citizens by creating a positive and nurturing school environment where staff, students, parents and the community work together to promote lifelong learning and to provide opportunities for students to reach their maximum potential. It helps them to acquire knowledge in a unique way resulting in the development of values which are essential for future success.
