High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
 
Skyline High School is a public high school in Millcreek Township, Utah, that serves tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders. The school opened in 1964 and is administered by the Granite School District. Admission to Skyline High School is open enrollment. Thus students are neither required to take an admission exam nor live within the boundaries set by the administering district. Mrs. Kathy Clark is a principal of the Skyline High School. Mascot is Eagle, and color of school is gold and blue.
 
Skyline is regarded by some as one of Utah's best high schools for its established organizations. Academically, it is one of just four Utah schools to offer the IB diploma programmed, along with Hillcrest High School, Hunter High School, and West High School. Its athletics teams have a long record of winning state championships; in 2005 Skyline won the state championships in football and lacrosse. Skyline's music and drama programs also receive state-wide recognition.
 
In athletics, they are playing baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, cross-country, football, golf, men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, swimming, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track, women's track, volleyball, water polo, and wrestling these games are playing. Skyline High School fosters a community which values character, personal responsibility, and intellectual curiosity in order to achieve a high level of student learning. They believe in promoting and recognizing the worth and dignity of each individual, in fostering individual accountability and responsibility, in focusing on education, and making quality classroom instruction a priority, in teaching skills that prepare students for the future, in offering a variety of opportunities for all students and in establishing a partnership between education and community.
