Hendrick Hudson
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
The Hendrick Hudson School is committed to providing an excellent education for all of their students. Its many outstanding features include a comprehensive technology plan integrated into the K-12 instructional program, a full day kindergarten program and a balanced assessment program. An academically gifted program is offered, and full special education services are available. The state of the art library or media centers are at each school. Hendrick Hudson is located at Montrose, New York James Mackin is the Principal and Anecia Bell Jefferson Assistant Principal.
Hendrick Hudson High School offers a comprehensive program of honors and A.P. Advance Placement courses in a full Regents program with special education services provided where needed, and technical training through BOCES. The guidance department provides full academic, personal and career counseling and college placement. The school also boasts a band and orchestra, a Supportive Learning Center, and a range of academic intervention services. Their instructional programs are designed to meet the needs of a diverse set of learners. Each program has been revised and modified over the years to be effective and efficient.
They offer spring sports includes baseball, softball, tennis, golf. In fall sports football, volleyball, swimming, soccer, field hockey. The winter sports include basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, and skiing for boys and girls.
