Fox Chapel
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
The Fox Chapel Area School District is located approximately 12 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. The district has four elementary sites, a middle school, and high school. There are approximately 4,600 students in the school district. The Fox Chapel Area School District has 434 professional staff members, 24 administrators, and 252 support staff.
Fox Chapel Area School District is committed to ensuring good health and wellness of its students. Research concludes that healthy students are more alert and successful in the classroom and have a better chance to carry their academic success and healthy habits into adulthood. With the support of the school board, the Fox Chapel Area School District Wellness Committee has adopted recommendations put forth by PDE, the Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelines, National Standards for Competitive Foods in Pennsylvania. These recommendations have become a part of their wellness policy.
The Fox Chapel Area School District exists to provide a rigorous school program that strives to take students to their maximum levels of educational achievement and to develop the whole person in order to accomplish his or her personal best. They focus on training students for particular careers and then placing them in successful careers after graduation. They have a devoted team of staff and instructors ready and willing to help you from enrollment to 10 to 12 grades.
