Eureka
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district. EHS, Eureka High School located in Eureka, Missouri, is a secondary school in the Rockwood School District. Eureka has a student body that usually numbers over a thousand students. Most students are from Wildwood Middle School or Lasalle Middle School. Dr. Kevin Keltner is the Principal of the Eureka high school. In 2004, Newsweek named Eureka one of the most challenging High Schools in the country. Time also listed Eureka among its top 1000 high schools. In addition to the standard Rockwood sports teams, EHS also has Lacrosse, Ice Hockey and Rugby club teams. The school mascot is Wildcat and school colors are purple and gold. Eureka High School is committed to developing all students to become highly competitive, responsible, and productive members of society within an inviting environment of excellence strengthened by a devoted and caring staff.
