High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
The Cedarburg School District is located in southeastern Wisconsin in Ozaukee and Washington Counties. The principal of Cedarburg high school is Karen. The Cedarburg School District offers a comprehensive educational program for students in the kindergarten through twelfth grade. Through the use of one high school, one middle school and three elementary schools, students participate in excellent programs. The district enrollment is approximately 3,100 students and employs staff of nearly 350 people.
The Varsity division of the CHS, Cedarburg School District debate team placed first at the Wisconsin State Debate Tournament. Four students received both the varsity best affirmatives and varsity best negatives awards. The captain of the debate team was awarded a top speaker award. An additional four CHS students took fourth place in the Varsity division. Athletics in the school function as an integral part of the total curriculum. It offers opportunities to serve the institution, to assist in the development of fellowship and good will, to promote self-realization and all-around growth, and to encourage learning the qualities of good citizenship.
According to them young people learn a great deal from their participation in interscholastic athletics. Lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, competition and how to win and lose gracefully are an integral part of each team in their athletic program.  Athletics play an important part, too, in helping the individual student develop a healthy self-concept, as well as a healthy body.  Athletic competition adds to their school spirit and helps all students spectators as well as participants develop pride in their school.  The goal of the Cedarburg High School Renaissance Program is to create a partnership between school and community which will strive to maximize academic achievement, increase attendance, and change attitudes.
