Duxbury
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. Duxbury High School is a public high school in New England, located in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Its students are residents of the town of Duxbury. The superintendent of the district is Eileen C. Williams. The interim principal of Duxbury High School is Thomas Kelly, the former superintendent of Marshfield High School. Duxbury High School is known for its fine academic standing. For comparison, the state reports results from its standardised test, the MCAS. In the 2005 Duxbury sophomores performed such that 90 percent of test takers scored proficient or above in the English Language Arts section of the test, compared to just 65 percent of the test takers statewide. Likewise, Duxbury earned an 86 percent proficiency rate, compared to the statewide 62 percent.
