High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.

Dover-Sherborn High School, D-S, is a regional public high school in the town of Dover, Massachusetts, United States. The school is located at 9 Junction St., Dover. The student population is drawn from Dover and its neighboring town, Sherborn. Like most high schools, it enrolls 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. The two towns approved over 1 million dollars in renovations to the buildings and grounds. The school has a typical enrollment of 450 students. The School's athletic rival has always been the neighboring town of Medfield.

Dover-Sherborn High School was founded in 1962.  Until the 1960's Dover and Sherborn both sent their high school students to neighboring town's high schools. By the 1950s the population boom was making it difficult for those schools to accept outside students, and the two towns opted to create a regional school district. The first building was built on Farm Street in 1962. As the population continued to increase, the current high school was built on the same campus and completed in 1968. In 2004, renovations on the high school were completed.

Academically, D-S is one of the top performing Massachusetts public schools annually. The school offers and competes competitively in a number of sports, including football, cross country, golf, field hockey, basketball, alpine and Nordic skiing, swimming, gymnastics, baseball, lacrosse, track and field, and sailing.

The mission of Dover-Sherborn High School is to provide an environment in which all students will acquire the necessary skills to become responsible thinkers who appreciate diversity and are productive citizens in their community.
