Colleyville Heritage
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
CHHS, Colleyville Heritage High School offers a diverse academic program, an extensive athletic program, and a variety of extra curricular activities. CHHS has a reputation for high standards and quality performance. It was established in 1996. Colleyville Heritage has focused on excellence in academics and activities to include athletics, and the performing and visual arts. In its first eight years the school has created an outstanding record of achievements in each of these areas and has earned recognition at the local, area, regional, state and national level.
The principal, Dr. Marlin Stanberry, was selected in a nationwide search to open the school and create the program. As the original principal, he has had the unique opportunity to hire virtually all members of the certified teaching staff. The mission of the Colleyville Heritage High School Library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.
At Colleyville Heritage High School, their mission is to provide a learning environment where students are challenged to reach their individual potential in the achievement of knowledge and the development of personal, cultural and democratic values essential for future success.
