Thomas Stone
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Thomas Stone high school is a top high school situated in the United States. Thomas Stone high school of approximately 2,100 students located in Waldorf, Maryland in Charles County. In 2005, Thomas Stone was named by Newsweek Magazine as one of the best 300 high schools in the nation. They are very proud of that honor and are continuing to work hard to be even better. All this success would not be possible without the joint efforts of their students, parents, teachers, staff and community. L.C. Martin is the principal of Thomas Stone High School.
The drawing and design class extends the student’s knowledge of art by utilizing past art experiences and challenging each student to explore a variety of means of self-expression. It provides students with a solid financial background as it relates to business and personal systems a course created for students with Asperger's Syndrome, the course focuses on the social skills curriculum and students’ goals and objectives. The course is taught by a special education teacher with the aide of an instructional assistant. The students also participate in a group therapy session once a week with a school psychologist and guidance counselor.
The mission of the Thomas Stone High School is to prepare their students to become productive citizens in a global society by providing essential tools in a supportive environment. A broad range of basic principles and practices of a variety of business institutions are explored. These fundamental principles are studied in local, national and international context affording the opportunity to explore the differences in culture and perspective.
