The Woodlands
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
The Woodlands is a top high school located in the United States. The Woodlands High School is the leading high school in Texas, United States in area and it once had the second largest number of students over 4,900 before the opening of The Woodlands College Park High School. The school's mascot is the Highlander. Gregg Colschen is the Principal of the school.
TWHS, The Woodlands High School Band was honored by the John Philip Sousa Foundation with the Sudler Flag of Honor in 2003 to identify its high standards of excellence in its concert activities over numerous years. The band program is very successful. In 2006, the band won the Bands of America class 3A National title. The Woodlands High School, home of the Highlanders is a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon high school in The Woodlands, Texas. With an enrollment of over 3,000 students on two campuses, TWHS has forged a pathway of fineness for emerging youth.
At TWHS, their mission is to promote educational growth through a rigorous curriculum along with the acquisition of technical skills and knowledge that will provide a basis for lifelong learning and will create a bridge between education and career.
