Talented & Gifted
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Talented and Gifted School is located in Dallas, Texas. The school colors are blue and yellow and mascot is Griffin. F. Michael Satarino is the Principal of the school. The district’s Gifted and Talented Program is designed to modify the delivery of instruction for talented and gifted students by adjusting the pace and complexity of instruction to match student abilities and areas of interest.
The activities include independent study projects, higher-order thinking skills, discovery learning, research, and other activities designed to enrich curriculum. The Advanced Placement Program, sponsored by the College Board, enables high school students to earn advanced placement, college credit, or both at nearly 3000 colleges and universities across the country.
The mission of the school for the Talented and Gifted is to provide an environment in which the unique worth, dignity, and abilities of each individual are not only recognized but cultivated and celebrated as well. They wish to provide an educational experience that empowers highly capable students to interact with their intellectual peers in creative, academic, aesthetic, and social endeavors in order to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow and to become life-long learners, responsible citizens, and contributors to the betterment of society as a whole in an ever-changing world.
