Tabb
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Tabb High School is a high school located in Tabb, an unincorporated community in southern York County, Virginia, United States. Mrs. Laura Abel is the principal and Dr. Serbrenia Sims is the Assistant principal of Tabb High School. Tabb High school is part of the York County School Division, serving southern York County. The school is located at 4431 Big Bethel Road, near the site of the first land battle of the US Civil War Battle of Big Bethel. Tabb's rival is Grafton High School.
Tabb opened in the fall of 1972. It was without a senior class, and did not have a graduation ceremony until the spring of 1974. It was considered quite cutting edge for it's time. It had carpeting, movable walls, was air conditioned and contained two large rooms called kivas in which the teacher worked from the lowest level with five ascending rows in front and on either side. Tabb High School offer a well-rounded and safe educational experience to ensure that all students are actively involved in solving problems, producing quality work, and demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary for lifelong learning.
