Stony Point
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Stony Point High School is located at Round Rock in Texas. The principal of the school is Mr. D.J. Dilworth. The school provides quality education through high expectations and engaged instruction. It has been continuously striving for improvement. In quest for excellence, the school will function as a community where teachers, students, administrators and support staff are learners, leaders and teachers. The school preserves its historical vision, gives that vision vitality in changing times and embeds its ideals in every succeeding generation.
The school curriculum, as well as curricular and extra curricular activities, includes experiences that enable students to realize personal and civic goals which allow them to mature and to be responsible members of our constantly changing society. They encourage each student to participate in various sporting events like athletic training services, baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, Tennis and many more.
Their mission is to raise the bar in literacy and numeracy. They are committed to closing the performance gap among the different student groups moving toward 90 percent proficiency levels. They encourage and support all students in club, team, organization and academic groups to reach ever higher levels of performance yielding successes. All the members of the school community monitor performance and results through a process of reflection, inquiry and dialogue.
The students and faculty blend rigorous academic studies and exchanges into lives lived fully and committed to making a difference. In this regard, knowledge, honor, courage, and service stand out as elements of character important in their daily lives and to the future of each student. The school believes that intellectual and moral excellence is achieved through the active participation of many people in diverse roles, which brings in a wide range of expertise and experience.
