South Eugene
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
South Eugene High School is a public high school located in Eugene in Oregon. It was built in 1953 as Eugene High School, but its name was changed after North Eugene High School was built four years later. It is located at 400 east, 19th Avenue. The current principal is Randy Bernstein. The schools in Lane County have spanned back to the time Pioneers were still settling Oregon in the 1850s. Throughout Oregon, South Eugene High School has been known for its academic physique and diverse student body.
The school offers one of the most comprehensive athletic and activity programs found in Oregon. Their goal is total participation at all levels of activity. They promote extra curricular activities to complement the academic program. Extra curricular activities provide a means by which one can gain experience that contribute toward enhanced physical growth and development. The sports offered by season are in fall sports cross Country, football, soccer and Volleyball, in winter sports basketball, swimming and wrestling, in spring sports track and field, baseball, softball, tennis and golf.
The family connection is linked to the counselor’s network and enables counselors, students and parents to track and analyze data about college and career plans. This new tool allows each one to target colleges, receive email reminders about college visits, view test scores and other historical data on colleges attended by previous school graduates.
The mission of this school is to provide their students equal opportunities to grow along with all round development. It helps the students to understand their true potential and helps them to acquire knowledge in a unique way resulting in the development of values which are essential for future success.
