High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place.
 
Schaumburg established in 1970 is one of the top high schools. Schaumburg High School, or SHS, is a public four-year high school located in Schaumburg, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of township high school district 211, which also includes James B. Conant High School, William Fremd High School, Hoffman Estates High School, and Palatine High School. Its colors are cardinal red, gold. and its mascot is saxons, Siegie. Dr. Sharon Cross is the principal of the school.
 
The United States department of education recognizes Schaumburg High School as a blue ribbon school of excellence. The high school is accredited by the North Central Association and has earned full recognition status by the state superintendent of schools in the State of Illinois. Schaumburg competes in the Mid-Suburban League West Conference and Illinois High School Association. And their athletics include football, basketball, bowling etc. They won a lot of awards in the sports that include boys' baseball 1997 AA state champions, 1989 AA state runner up, boys' basketball 2001 state champions, girls' bowling 2004 state champions etc. As well as schools another activities include tru-course leaders for life, computer club, French club, music-vocal etc.
 
In 2006, Schaumburg had an average composite score of 21.4, and graduated 97 percent of its senior class. The average class size is 25. Schaumburg has not made adequate yearly progress on the Prairie State achievement examination, a state test part of the no child left behind act. township High School District 211 adopted and implemented the tru-course leadership program at Schaumburg High School in August 2006 to a great deal of debate in the community.

Saxon Pride awards program honors students for exceptional effort and improvement in academic performance. A total of 162 Students were recognized in 2004-2005. This school offer overseeing overall campus operations, student programming, activities, school climate, staffing, staff-development and school improvement. The mission of Schaumburg school is to provide quality career education to students who wish to pursue respectable careers.
