Scarsdale
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Scarsdale is one of the top high schools. SHS, Scarsdale High School is a public high school in Scarsdale, New York and was founded in 1917. Over 1500 students attend SHS and use its facilities. Scarsdale was founded in 1917. maroon and white are the school colors and John Klemme is the principal of the school.
SHS offers a multitude of clubs including the school papers maroon and cutting edge, the yearbook Bandersnatch and literary magazine Jabberwocky, and much more. The high school carnival occurs on school grounds in the spring of every year, and rides and games attract many. The high school is situated in one of the wealthiest suburbs in the country, home to many high-powered individuals. From the graduating class of 2006, 98.5 percent continued their education with college programs.
In athletic they arrange their schedule as per season. Like as winter teams, spring teams, fall teams etc. Their athletics include football, field hockey, volleyball, cheerleading etc. As well as they offer the courses through academic departments. That contains English, fine arts, foreign language, physical education, special education etc. The special education department adheres to the philosophy that each individual with a disability is entitled to the assistance necessary to maximize his or her potential given the resources of the district.
Special programs are in place at each grade level to address the appropriate issues for students at each age and stage of development. In addition to preparing students for college study and for productive adult lives, they emphasize student participation in the broader community. Their extensive roster of athletic opportunities, club activities, and service options promotes a commitment to others through teamwork and dedication to principle. The Scarsdale school’s mission is to promote a professional learning environment that educates and empowers students to initiate, advance or change their careers and engage in life-long learning.
