High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.

Plano is a top high school situated in the United States. Located just 20 miles north of downtown Dallas, the city of Plano enjoys a thriving economy, with abundant amenities and approval ratings. In the early 1840s, several settlers came to the area around Plano. Plano school features award winning architecture, state of the art technology and well maintained grounds. Their schools and administrative facilities house our more than 51,000 students and 7,000 employees. The Plano school system is structured as a five phase educational experience, with lower grade levels feeding into one of three senior high schools.

Periodically, bond elections are called by the board of trustees to present taxpayers with proposals to fund the construction of new schools, renovate existing schools and equip schools with the most up to date technology. Plano provides a comprehensive safety and security program designed to provide students, staff and visitors with facilities that meet or exceed standards in fire safety, air quality, hazardous materials management, chemical safety and building safety. A video surveillance system in every school is just one of the safety features that the school implements.

Plano continues to garner national acclaim for its quality of lifestyle, environmental initiatives and opportunities for economic development. The school board and superintendent of schools present the mission and the beliefs, strategic goals and guiding principles so that their staff, students, parents and greater community might better understand the issues facing the school.

The school believes that addressing the goals will allow students to meet the expectations outlined in the strategic goals. The staff assumes the responsibility for making a positive effort to meet the intellectual, physical, emotional and ethical needs of all students. The school curriculum, as well as co curricular and extra curricular activities, includes experiences that enable students to realize personal and civic goals which allow them to mature and to be responsible members of our constantly changing society.
