Marshfield
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
John Blankush is the principal of the school. They are a comprehensive high school with music, theatre, arts, and technical programs that receive recognition on the state and national level every year. Their departments include art, business systems, athletics, music and health and wellness. The Marshfield School District Athletic Department arranges their sports as per schedule and coaches them accordingly. Their boys and girls' sports include basketball, tennis and baseball. They offer their students a menu of academic classes in both the core and elective areas that rivals the largest high schools in the nation. Their state test scores led the Wisconsin Valley Conference in every category last year.
The intent of the guidance program is to help all students develop more adequate and realistic concepts of themselves, become aware of educational and occupational opportunities, and integrate their understanding of self and opportunities in making informed decisions. This is accomplished by offering services concerned with developmental, preventive and remedial aspects of education.
Marshfield High School is a great place to grow and learn. In the spring of 2005, MHS was named one of America's Best High Schools by Newsweek magazine. In 2005, 249 students completed 625 Advanced Placement Exams in 26 different areas of study. Their students posted a 79 percent success ratio on those exams, far above the national average. In addition, 451 MHS students were awarded certificates of advanced standing through successful completion of coursework that they have articulated with Mid-State Technical College.
The Marshfield High School aims on targeting the success of their students. The institution is renowned due to qualities like supportive learning environment, respected and enthusiastic staff and faculty members, and the capability to meet the needs of the community’s wide ranging requirements.
