High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
 
Clarence Senior High School is a public institution for grades 9th to 12th located in Clarence, New York. The Principal is Joseph F. Gentile. Clarence Senior High School was established in 1841. The overall Students are 1700 with faculty 169. The colors are red and black and mascot red devils. The modern campus underwent renovation from 1996 to 1998. A new wing with classrooms and district offices and a second main hallway were added before construction moved to refurbishing older areas, including classrooms, hallways, lobby and the auditorium.
 
A large new gymnasium and a state of the art, 25-yard, and eight lane swimming pool were added. New music rooms with soundproofing and special acoustic shaping for the award-winning bands and orchestras were added. The basement target riflery range was rebuilt with new ventilation systems. A vast new two floor media center replaced the library, bringing high technology to students. The School is currently undergoing renovations, part of the district's capital project.
 
The Clarence Board of Education is a corporate body which oversees and manages public school district affairs, personnel, and properties. It operates under the guidelines set forth by the Education Laws of the State of New York and the State Board of Regents. It is the official policy making body of the school district. The Clarence Board of Education is composed of seven members who serve without pay for a period of three years.
 
At Clarence High School, their mission is to provide a learning environment where students are challenged to reach their individual potential in the achievement of knowledge and the development of personal, cultural and democratic values essential for future success.
