Chamberlain
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
CHS, Chamberlain High School was opened in September, 1956. It was named in honor of George D. Chamberlain who served for several years as a Hillsborough School System Trustee. Since its establishment in 1956, Chamberlain High School has maintained a standard of excellence in every area of the curriculum. Outstanding achievements have been made in academics, the fine arts, sports and community involvement. From an initial enrollment of 1000 in 1956, Chamberlain has grown to a student population of more than 2300.
Through the years, despite this dramatic growth and expansion, Chamberlain has successfully continued to strive for higher goals while maintaining its reputation as one of Florida's finest high schools. It is a school rich in tradition, academics and spirit. While they treasure the richness of Chamberlain's past, they look forward to the greatness of its future. Mr. Jeff Boldt is the principal of the school. The departments of the school are business technology and marketing, driver education, English, exceptional student education, family and consumer science, fine arts, foreign language, guidance, mathematics, science and career.
Chamberlain High School is one of 84 schools recognized with this award. The 5 star school award recognizes schools which fully integrate a five star involvement of business partners, families, volunteers, student community service, and school advisory school improvement team. The personal award for faculties includes, outstanding educator support personnel award, teacher of the year award, distinguished minority educator award, non-instructional employee of the year award. The mission of CHS is to promote student academic excellence as first and foremost objective, striving to create curriculum and instruction that is varied, creative, and intellectually challenging.
