Century
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Century school is located on the south edge of Pocatello, Idaho on 7801 Diamondback Drive. The school is a place where everyone may be welcomed and treated with high respect. Century is the home of the diamondbacks and is involved in many sports and activities. CHS, Century High School was featured in Newsweek magazine as one of the top 1000 schools in the nation.
Mr. Pat Charlton is the principal of the school. CHS faculty by department art ,business, English, EBCE, family and consumer science, foreign language, health, mathematics, performing arts, physical education, science, social studies and technology. The very right persons are appointed in school staff. The counseling center at Century High School offers many services to parents and students. Mr. Vic Bennett, Ms. Liz Chambers and Mr. Scott Tyson are the counseling team in center who gives the right suggestions and right path for students and his parents also.
Organizations or clubs run by the school include, art club, business professionals of America, computer club, ecology club, Hispanic awareness leadership org, National honor society, outdoor club, student council and world language club. Although the school is new, it is already developing a reputation as a school that has great student involvement and school pride. Within the short existence as a school they have achieved greatly in both sports and academics, winning state championships in football, volleyball, and soccer. Century is a place of serious academic business where they value the education and learning. It provides a positive learning environment that will produce successful citizens prepared to achieve their greatest potential.
