High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.

Brookwood High School is a public high school in the United States for students in Grades 9 through 12. The school is located in Snellville, Georgia, and has a population of over 3,000 students. Brookwood High School serves several areas of Gwinnett County, including Lawrenceville and Lilburn. The dress colors are Maroon and Gold and school mascot is Bronco.

The plans for Brookwood High School were started in 1977 to lessen the overcrowding of nearby high schools of South Gwinnett and Parkview. A committee of educators from Gwinnett County met together to create and discuss specifications for the facility. The school officially opened in 1981 under the leadership of principal Emmett Lawson. Currently, the principal of the school is Jane Stegall with associate principals Debra Dees and David Smith. The school derived its name literally from its location on the intersection of Holly Brook Road and Dogwood Road. Recently the school has celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special dance, chorus, and orchestra concert.

The school is separated into various halls, from A through F Hall. A Hall is primarily for senior core classes, and foreign language. B Hall is primarily for electives such as art, engineering, computing, and several others. C Hall currently is primarily for technical classes and special education. D Hall contains the two gyms and locker rooms. E Hall is for sophomore classes while F hall is commonly known as the Freshman Hall and is designated primarily for ninth graders. As of late February of 2006, the new A100 and A200 building was opened. It is filled with over twenty classrooms. A new building containing replacement band and orchestra rooms adjacent to F Hall opened recently. Brookwood offers a wide range of sports for the students through try outs.

The staff and faculties of Brookwood High School are dedicated in providing high quality education to the students.
