Sam Houston
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
Sam Houston is one of those top high schools. This is located in San Antonio, Texas. Melonie B. Inglehart-Hammons is the Principal of the school. Sam Houston offer many courses thorough different department. In that include instructional technology, accountability, technology and management information systems, fine arts, federal programs, special education. The Federal Programs Department provides support services and guidance to campuses and departments in assuring program implementation compliance in the use of Federal and State Compensatory Education funds.
The department implements the CMS, Curriculum Management System and Interim Assessment Initiatives. The CMS is a comprehensive web-based system that houses the district's Scope and Sequence and instruction and assessment resources within a single location. It is their goal to maximize the use of federal funds, reauthorized under the no child left behind act, to eliminate the gap of their low income children and support the District in reaching the Vision 2009 goals.
The Sam Houston High School Faculty and Staff will establish and consistently maintain a positive culture in which every student receives a relevant and rigorous academic foundation by implementing research-based professional development raised expectations among faculty, staff, students, parents and community members, a safe structured, and disciplined environment and timely communication and collaboration.
The mission of Sam Houston High School is to offer an environment in which all students will acquire the necessary skills to become responsible thinkers who appreciate diversity and are productive citizens in their community.
