Rumson-Fair Haven
High school is a name used in some parts of the world, and particularly in North America, to describe the last segment of compulsory secondary education. It is preceded by primary education. High school is also the name used to describe the institution in which the final stage of compulsory education takes place. In the United States, high schools generally consist of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, although the inclusion of grade 9 varies by school district.
The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, is a regional, four-year comprehensive public high school and school district, serving students in grades 9 through 12 from the suburban Monmouth County, New Jersey, communities of Fair Haven 389 students and Rumson 435 students, which are situated on a peninsula in northern Monmouth County bounded by the Nave sink and Shrewsbury Rivers and the Atlantic Ocean.
Rumson-Fair Haven High School receives students from two middle schools, Forestdale Middle School in Rumson and Knoll wood School in Fair Haven, as well as from private schools, including Rumson Country Day School and Holy Cross School. The high school had an enrollment of 949 students in the 2005 to 06 school year, with a projection of 20 to 30 additional students enrolling in each of the next three years above current levels.
Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School was the 33rd ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2006 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. The athletics programs include baseball, basketball, men's, basketball, women's, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, men's and women's, tennis, men's and women's, track, volleyball, wrestling. Rumson-Fair Haven High School is a dynamic school that promotes academic achievement, high expectations, respect, unity, and safety. Rumson-Fair Haven High Schoolstrives to develop specific goals and high academic standards, using communication and commitment within a shared learning environment.
The mission of Rumson-Fair Haven High School is to offer an environment in which all students will acquire the necessary skills to become responsible thinkers who appreciate diversity and are productive citizens in their community.
